Grand Pa Bajoja Ceesay admonished that one only fails upon accepting failure as last resort. He said, "Sonny, the successful had trail blazers of endless failures but only learnt from them while refusing to succumb to failure. "
These words of a village sage still ring into my ears as if they were spoken a few seconds ago. I am aware that it is easier to declare challenges as white elephants than find what or how to overcome that seemingly unsalable step before us. This story about Manding Medical Centre is my way of remembering a wise man s love for me and way to success.
To think a penniless village boy would dream and dare to carry out such fantasia dreams only beguiles the mind. But this is exactly what story you are about to read. It happened from believed that it is onus upon Africans to standup and help their people and continent move into the twentieth century like other societies on earth.
Tribe ligancies and corruption buffered by heartless, selfish and inept politicians only send us spiraling down to the deepest part of deprivation and backwardness. The nationhood is by far larger than individual tribes and personal gains. Combining tribe and nation into one affords a stronger bond and a workforce unmatched by any splintered options.
My challenge is to help bring medical aid and service to beleaguered villagers, especially children. I met many a stumbling block and heartless law on the way but I never accept it possible to stop my drive and goal.
